I'm still alive

No, that's not a freakin' Pearl Jam quote. I am back from the land of the dead. Or at least the Great Wall. I was back last night but I haven't been able to get online. I don't know how long I'll have to write right now. I am trying to at least get one batch of pictures uploaded now and then start another big one overnight. In fact I think I will have to stop for now. Hopefully I can actually get some time tomorrow to add some descriptions before I forget what happened. There are so many little things to tell. Oh by the way that picture above is from a fast-food (sort of)noodle place in the Beijing airport. I assume it's a chain. Anyway, there are new photo links on the sidebar.

Mornin' Jeffrey my boy! Last night we went to New Richmong--NO, not to
Pete's either, but to enjoy the stage presentation of
"South Pacific", which VERY GOOD! The musicians, both orchetra, small one, Milo's wife, Betty Lou, played for hours:7:30 p.m. until just about 10:00 p.m. The lead vo-calists were superb. Many, many ppl
in the entire presentation. Lots of music throughout!

Before the NR play, we had spaghet-ti & meatballs with cookies and salad at the Middle School. Had I been driving I think I woulda "went" to the old junior high, where I once went to school. Ha, ha.

Eight of us went more or less to-gether in different cars, we being there first by over half an hour ahead of the rest-and DONE eating.
Organization, it's called!!

We tried to look at or download a
bunch of your pix but found it said on the screen "error on page".

Will try again if we remember. We WILL sooner or later at least.

Anxious to hear about your Beijing foray. Didn't evev think you would be able to see the Great Wall this time of the year.

Nuff for you to tussle with today.

BEEEG HUG for now, Papa Jim

P.S. Jeff, Please tell the crew hi from Grandpa Jim, ok?

Great Wall or The Greatest Wall?Sorry, only members of the Colbert Nation will get that reference.

Hey, we (Jeff and I, that is) were also born the year of the pig. Technically, we were born the year of the "Metal Boar" as opposed to this year's "Fire Boar." It's easier just to say "pig" I guess.(I'm not really smart to know the boars by heart...I just use Wikipedia. Although I should be "honest, straightforward, and patient," being the pig I am.)

Regardless, we should all eat some bacon on Sunday to celebrate. (Bacon Po'Boys? Do I dare dream?)

Instead of plain bacon, how about Pigs in Blankets? M!

Or a hotdog wrapped in bacon.

Or like they have at Crazy Buffet (so it must be authentic Chinese food, right?), mock crab wrapped in bacon?

. . . mmmmmmm . . .

What year is the year of the Chinese Rock? I hope that's the year I was born.

According the the China Daily, it's not true that this is the year of the golden pig. Apparently it's actually the year of the mud pig. Too bad for all the people who decided to have kids this year because they thought it was the year of the golden pig.

Pigs are really better with mud than with gold. So I think it's a good thing.
